Newark (Thur 13th June)

Woke to bright sunshine at 6 Derek up as usual, walked dogs twice and went for paper.  I had shower and sorted dirty washing (someone has to I suppose) Breakfast at 8 30, the weather was looking dicey and we were planning to go to town.   We went into town it was a bit showery but not too bad and has it was windy didn’t take a brolly. I managed to get some good bits and pieces from my favourite places,l charity shops, we then had an early lunch, bacon baps and coffee at 11 and the heavens opened whilst we were in there, perfect timing Derek says.   I found a fabric shop that I had not been to before and got some lovely bits and pieces and we got some new plants from the market to freshen up the boat pots.  We came back to the boat for a rest, the intention being for me to do more painting and planting and Derek to get provisions, Steak and chips for tea mainly? And fill up with water.  We had a visitor, Bowman called to see us after he had dropped his wife Jan off at the Railway Station and we had a nice chat and coffee and the heavens opened again so the painting and planting had to wait anyway.  They had got a place to leave the boat in the Marina so that was all good, we thought they might have had a problem as Derek rang the Marina in the week and they said no spaces available, we were pleased for them as it means the boat will be safe and secure for the week.   Derek went to the supermarket, walked the dogs and gave them their tea and filled up with water after I had planted the planters and made a mess of his clean boat he rinsed the roof with the hose !!!!
